Today is Friday, and I'm about to embark on what will be one of the most memorable times of my life:

My family has spent MONTHS planning the shower, down to the plate! It's going to be so perfect. I can't wait to share photos! It's a surprise, but from what I gather, it's going to look something like this (my mother's inspiration):

Birthday Thoughts & presents

What a wonderful message and surprise from Venessa. She truly made my birthday extra special!  So, this year my bucket list for year 26 entails:

1. I want to learn how to sew my own clothes. I always have & I need to find the time to make this happen. I have the sewing machine and fabric ready to go...
2.  I want to train for a race. I have run half marathons and a bunch of races, but since I have moved to New York, I have put running aside. This year I would like to sign up for a race and be dedicated to training for it.
3. Since moving to this city, I haven't been to a museum yet! Crazy how when you move to a city you just figure you'll get to all the touristy stuff lately.

Other than large scale goals, this year I want to focus on my friendships and finding happiness within peace and quiet. I oftentimes feel like I need to be on the go and to be planning something. This year, I would like to focus on the smaller blessings in my life and just have a quiet, happy and healthy year.

Hey, Birthday Girl!

Julia turned 26 this weekend and we celebrated with champagne first, followed by all-you-can-eat sushi and sake bombs (haven't had one of those since college), but nevertheless, it was amazing and exactly what Julia wanted. She had one criteria for the celebration:

"I don't want to go anywhere nice or cozy"

Which if you know Julia, "cozy" is like her middle name.

I just want to say to Julia (and to the world), that I hope this year brings you lots of happiness and love. It's crazy how I've only known you for 6 months, and I can't picture my life without you. You are one of my bestest friends and we're going to make this year really rock. Now, blow out your candles and tell me (the world) what you wish for yourself this year, you know, like a before-I-Turn-27 list of sorts. Go! : )
