Just want to say, while we're on the topic of friends, that it's been a pleasure to share our lives and interests with our friends who follow this blog. For those of you who continue to leave us comments, thank you! We want to hear as much about you (especially where you're from!) as we are telling you about us. Thanks for being there on the other end. Till next time . . .
Okay, so it's not crazy cold outside, but it is pretty rainy and gloomy. This week, I have been doing a cleanse/detox, so in addition to the weather, I have been absent from the gym. However, without gettin' my sweat on, I usually get pretty antsy... Hence, a Yoga post! I have been practicing yoga for the past couple of years, but more recently I feel like I have been getting the most out of it mentally as well as physically. Perhaps it's the consistency or finding the right studio. If you're an avid reader of Everything-Pretty, you know I love all things cozy, and if any exercise was going to be cozy, it would be yoga. Om...
Couples yoga anyone? This is my friend Lyda with her boyfriend Jake... How cool is this? Romance yoga... I like it!
And then there's this. This video was produced by Equinox, and I love it. The music, the man sleeping in the bed, the view from her window. It is so peaceful & so inspiring.
Oh.my.goodness. This bridal collection is absolutely breathtaking. How lovely and unique are these dresses? The lace detail is absolutely beautiful. Only bad thing? The designer, Anna Campbell, sells the dresses exclusively out of her boutique in Australia which is a giant plane ride away. Sigh.
It probably won't surprise you, but I get really into New Year's resolutions. I like making lists and I like pampering myself, so this year is double the pressure because I'm getting married in 5 months. I want to feel the happiest AND the healthiest on this day and hope to keep it up long after.
I've been clipping out health and beauty tips from bridal magazines, saving snipbits from fitness magazines, and found that the start of 2012, I would actually start following the advice. If you are counting down to your wedding or feeling like you need to kick your ass into shape after just having gorge yourself for the holidays (I fit into both categories) then try this with me. I'd love to hear if you do!

De-stress
Set up a weekly routine.
My goal: yoga (at least 3x a week)
Wake up -- and go to sleep -- at the same time every day.
My goal: wake up at 6:30 a.m., go to sleep by 10:30 p.m.
Aim for 7 to 8 hours per day.
TIP: to adjust to new schedule, set clock for a consistent time and move your bedtime 15 minutes earlier every few days until you reach your goal.
Apply a DIY calming face mask (easies puffiness and leaves a hint of glow)
Drink one glass of water every hour. Drink it ice cold. You'll jump start your metabolism since your body will need to work to get to a normal temperature to digest. Also, it's great for your complexion.
Drink three cups of green tea daily. Also will boost metabolism and will make your skin look great.
Take vitamins daily. Do not eat on an empty stomach, otherwise they have nothing to catalyze with.
C - firms the skin, keeps gums healthy
Omega 3 - soothes inflamed skin, makes hair shiny
E - an anti-aging agent, prevents hair loss
B12 - helps combat brittle nails and dandruff

Hair & Nails
Apply a weekly conditioning mask
Trim every 3 months
Seriously cut down on hot tools (apparently, you're supposed to eliminate them 5 months before your wedding so I better get on that).
Use hand moisturizer throughout the day to keep your nails from cracking.
TIP: Every treatment you do to your face, do to your neck. That gets old too.
For Gods sake, wash your damn face at night, no matter how tipsy tired you are (I'm yelling at myself here)
Exfoliate, moisturize, use a toner, use an eye cream
As you prep for a night out, steep one green and one black tea bag in the same mug for 15 minutes, then stash the brew in fridge. Next morning, soak cotton pads in the tea, place over eyes and lie down for an extra 10 minutes.
Lip balm like Neutrogena Lip Nutrition is essential, especially in this cold weather.
