diy: windowpane artwork

Oh, it's Tuesday after Labor Day weekend (well, technically it's Monday night) but most of you are either still at the bar or in bed sleeping off your hangover, so you probably won't be seeing this until Tuesday. Well goooood morning afternoon (in a british accent)! I've got a DIY to share!

I've had this windowpane forever and it has just been chillin in my hallway for months. I didn't know what to do with it until now, and I couldn't find it in me to part ways. Soo, one rainy day later and now I have a piece of "art" to hang over my television. Whoopie!

Here's how it started:

Supplies:
  • Favorite art prints found in a Christie's Auction House catalog
  • a windowpane (and maybe you can't find yours outside like I did. Check in a thrift/antique/junk shop)
  • A pair of scissors and some tape

It's embarrassing how easy this project was! I taped the photos well onto the frame behind the glass. Done and done. Not bad, eh?

The bigger picture for ya:

Total cost: probably like $5 (scissors and tape). The catalog was free.

  15. Looks so great ! :) I've seen window frames used as wall art, something like flowers or lace put between two frames. Cute.

    Thanks for the comment!

  20. Nothing wrong with a simple DIY! I love this. Such a great idea to reuse the window as a picture frame. I also love how you hung it over the TV. My living room is in a desperate need of artwork.
