Low maintenance recipes

Hello Lovelies!

Venessa and I have been busy this week attending Book Expo America. It’s been a lot of fun, but it’s our excuse for the lack of posts. Venessa is off in Philadelphia as well - So, forgive us!

Since I’m not on my everyday routine, I haven’t had time to go to the grocery store. This results in a meal of the randomest combinations. To jump start my morning, I threw together a smoothie with what was left in my freezer and leftover spinach from a salad.

We’ll call this Julia’s Green Smoothie:
-Handful of spinach
-8 frozen strawberries
-A handful of froze peaches and mangos
-Half of banana
-1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk
-A few ice cubes

I’ve also been trying to find some recipes that don’t include a lot of ingredients for weeks like these. Recipes that I skim the list and know I have everything in my fridge & cupboards. I found this, and it sounds so easy & so yummy...

  1. I love asparagus. It is probably my all time favorite veggie so finding a new recipe for them is awesome!

  4. What a way to start your morning. You've inspired me to start juicing and create my own smoothies again. So much healthier than the boring ol' toasts. Lately, I tried this recipe - quinoa with black beans and corn. I figured the 2800 positive 5 starred reviews probably is a good indication that it's good. It was amazing! and very very healthy.

  5. Have been seeing so many smoothies with spinach, but have yet to try one. Everyone says they are so good...it's just spinach scares me a little. Maybe I should suck it up and give it a whirl. Thanks for sharing!
