Since I have a few friends going to weddings this weekend, I figured I'd post about my favorite new formal haristyle. It's actually not that hard. This one I tried this morning. See!
OK, maybe not the best picture (we'll work on Paul's photography skills and my posing), but you get the idea . . . hopefully.
It's called the side chignon. You'll see the "real" directions below, but honestly, I didn't bother with the curling iron and the fluffing. I relied on two-day dirty hair and dry shampoo (oh, and many many bobby pins). I just think that if you look at the photo below, you can fake it until you make it.
Without final a due . . .
Now let's break it down:
{one}
using a round brush, blow-dry hair smooth and straight, focusing on the top sections
{two}
once dry, use a large-barrel curling iron to create waves from the ears down
{three}
build height and volume at the crown by teasing hair gently with a fine-tooth comb
{four}
gather hair into a low ponytail; twist it along the nape of your neck, pinning as you go
{five}
once you reach your ear, shape the remaining hair into curls, and pin them back over
{six}
red, red lips
